Continuum of Living > Long Term Care

By providing exceptional long-term care, Appalachian Christian Village lets families focus on enjoying their time with their loved one.

In addition to our wonderful Independent and Assisted Living communities, Appalachian Christian Village also operates a 103-bed Health Care Center that provides 24-hour Intermediate and Skilled Nursing Care for those who are chronically ill or injured. Residents of Appalachian Christian Village receive priority admission to the Health Care Center when such care is needed on a short- or long-term basis.

Our philosophy in the Health Care Center is the same as it is elsewhere at Appalachian Christian Village: Optimize wellness in all its many aspects and at all its many levels — and by working closely with each Health Care Resident’s physician and family, we are able to do just that. Indeed, we provide not only the medical attention required, but also physical, occupational, or respiratory therapy, as well as social and psychological services required to balance wellbeing in mind, body and spirit. We take a uniquely holistic approach to wellness that is both multifaceted and very successful.

This approach involves planned activities, family celebrations, exercise, flower gardening, picnics, singing, religious services, and pet therapy. A full-time activities director works with volunteers, family members and staff to make all of this happen.

Because we believe family involvement is vital, we encourage families and friends to visit as often as possible, to take their loved one on day trips or weekend visits with physician approval, to plan special birthday parties, and to send cards and letters.
