About Us > Foundation

The Appalachian Christian Village Foundation makes all our
efforts possible.

Giving reflects Christ’s love.

This extraordinary Foundation — a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation responsible for ensuring the funds required to support our facilities and services — not only makes successful day-to-day operation possible but furthers all aspects of our mission to reflect Christ’s love by helping individuals with the challenges of aging. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees, comprised of leaders from throughout the broader community, is a dedicated group of volunteers who provide the demanding oversight and direction required to both plan, implement, and fulfill the Foundation’s comprehensive fund development program, as well as the Foundation’s strategic plan, which includes:

  • Improving the quality of our facilities, activities, and services.
  • Expanding not only our services and activities, but also the physical plant required to support such expansion.
  • Ensuring a financially sound Appalachian Christian Village now and in the future at all current and future locations.
  • Developing new facilities and services as a means of expanding the impact of our ministry.
  • Increasing the overall size of our endowment through ethical fundraising principles and practices.
  • Ensuring that funds are readily available through annual giving, special events, major gifts, grants, planned giving, and capital campaigns.

No contribution toward these critical undertakings goes unnoticed. The Joseph H. Dampier Fellowship Fund was established to honor those whose contributions enable Appalachian Christian Village to meet its immediate and future goals, while our Fellowship Society recognizes those who have supported Appalachian Christian Village through planned giving on our Wall of Honor.

In addition — and perhaps most importantly, we are proud to note that since the founding of yet another fund in 1966 — Appalachian Christian Village’s Benevolent Fund -- no Resident has ever been asked to leave because they have outlived their financial resources.
